Live circles

Learning together, held well.

Circles are small live groups held around a specific course. Plenty of people learn best alone with a text, and the whole library is built for them. But for a great many minds, a live, held, relational space is the difference between material landing and material bouncing off. Circles are how we close that gap.

Who’s getting ready

Founding members

The first people through the door, who funded the build and will be the first to sit in a circle.

Founding practitioners

Facilitators, therapists, coaches and space-holders who signed up to train and hold circles of their own.

Beta testers

Helping test the platform and the first circles before they open to everyone.

No circles are running yet. There are no dates or seats to book. Nobody has finished training, and the first circles open after they have.

The facilitator pathway

  1. Join at the practitioner tier

Founding practitioner, or upgrade from member later by paying only the difference. Scholarships into this tier will exist, and asking for one isn’t means-tested.

  2. Take the course you want to hold

Circles are held around a specific course, so you take it yourself first. You can’t facilitate a room through material you haven’t been through. At this tier the prerequisite courses are included, not sold to you on top.

  3. Train in Holding the Circle

Six modules on facilitation: taking the seat, trauma-aware pacing, holding a room with mixed processing styles, when to step in and when not to, repair when something goes wrong, and what to do with your own reactions while you’re holding it.

  4. Get certified

Certification as a Kaleidoscope facilitator, once the training is complete.

  5. Hold your own circles, and get paid

Design and run small groups around the courses you know, and keep most of the revenue. The shape of the circles (how long, how often, how many people) gets worked out with the first cohort rather than decided in advance.

Why it works this way

The point isn’t a badge. It’s a way for people in this community to be paid for work they’re good at, and for the practice to grow beyond any one person, including me.
